About Mallika: The Performer
Mallika is an acclaimed and much awarded dancer in the Indian classical styles of Bharata Natyam and Kuchipudi and has been the lead soloist with Darpana for 30 years. Fifteen years ago she developed her own contemporary vocabulary. She has performed solo or with Darpana throughout India and around the world. Engagements include Sadlers Wells in London and the Festival des Champs Elyses in Paris as well as performing with companies such as the National Dance Institute and Battery Dance Company in New York, Pan Project in London and as part of festivals in Perth, Singapore, Hong Kong, Japan, Israel, Egypt and, of course, all major festivals in India.
